WHERE IS CROSSBOYNE CHURCH?
Crossboyne Church is situated in the picturesque village of Crossboyne. Crossboyne is the larger area and it includes a large rural area around the Crossboyne Church. It includes two areas – Mayfield and Brookhill – which would be considered part of Claremorris town.
WHEN WAS THE CHURCH BUILT?
Crossboyne Church was built in 1826 by Rev. Andrew Gavan P.P. The area of the plot is about forty perches, enclosed by a solid mortar wall and iron gates. There were originally three galleries.
WHAT ABOUT THE REFURBISHMENTS?
A complete refurbishment was carved out in 1988 when the sanctuary area was completely redecorated and enlarged. Two of the galleries were removed.

Taugheen is a rural area around the Taugheen Church. The Church has Taugheen School on one side and Taugheen Hall on the other.
WHEN WAS THE CHURCH BUILT?
The original church was built by the Rev. Andrew Gavan in 1834.
WHAT CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE?
Major refurbishments and additions took place in recent years to the buildings in the area and all of these improvements have enhanced the village.
A grotto was added at the front of the Taugheen church in 2011 and together with new railings and paths, this added to the entrance to the church.
